Here’s a few questions you might have for me, and their answers.

FAQ's

What video editing software do you use?

I use DaVinci Resolve Studio, because in my opinion it combines the best features of Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro. If you (the creator) don’t use DaVinci, there are still ways to work around collaborating on the same project, even when using different types of software (this solution is called XML files).

However, this solution is not without bugs, so I prefer to implement the feedback directly into the project file I’ve been working on for your first draft. Remember that each project comes with two revision rounds, so you won’t be charged extra for asking for revisions. 😊

How do you collaborate with creators?

I use frame.io to share the first draft with you (I have a paid account but you don’t need an account or paid subscription to give feedback). You can easily share your feedback using this platform by adding timestamps and drawing on the screen etc, I promise it’s really cool haha, as you’ll see in this tutorial.

How can I share my footage with you?

If you use frame.io (paid account), you can share your footage with me that way, but if not WeTransfer, Dropbox and Google Drive are great alternatives too.

What is your turnaround time for a video edit?

2-3 days for a short-form video (up to 3 minutes), and 3-5 days for a long-form video, plus the accompanying thumbnail

How does the monthly retainer work?

I offer a monthly retainer package if you need your edit quicker, meaning I can edit 4-5 weekly videos a month (for example), and I have specific days of the week booked in to edit for you. This way you’ll know you’ll receive the first draft every Monday evening, for example. As a retainer client, you’ll have a “skip-the-line ticket” for revisions, meaning you’ll receive your revisions within one day, whereas one-off projects and revisions will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Retainer packages are billed upfront, as they guarantee that I will work on your project on a certain day of the week, every week. One-off projects will be billed at the end of every project. Please understand that a monthly retainer package is non-refundable (if for whatever reason you can’t send over the footage in time), because I’ve cleared out my calendar to work on your project. (Think of this as scheduling a therapy appointment or gym class and then not attending.)

In other words, if you have a fixed upload schedule, the monthly retainer package is your best bet, because it guarantees quick turnaround times.

If your upload schedule is more flexible, one-off projects are the better choice for you.
