About the client

The client brief

Circle needed a way to convert curious visitors (people who were aware of the platform but hadn’t yet taken the leap) into trial users. The goal was to design a top-of-funnel lead magnet that felt genuinely valuable, not just a gimmick to collect emails. From there, a welcome email sequence would do the heavy lifting: nurture the new subscriber, build trust in the brand, and guide them toward starting a free trial without feeling pushy.

My approach & solution

I started by identifying the pain points of Circle’s audience (creators, coaches, and community builders). Rather than a generic guide, I proposed a data-backed benchmark report that answers the question every creator asks themselves: “Am I focusing on the right income streams?” This gave the lead magnet immediate perceived value and a built-in shareability factor. The 3-email sequence was then structured to build trust: deliver value first, introduce a counterintuitive insight second, and close with social proof that makes the outcome feel achievable (and easy to mimic!)

The result

The email sequence was designed to move a cold subscriber from curiosity to trial sign-up across seven days, with each email serving a distinct persuasive function. The intended outcome is a lift in free trial starts among leads who downloaded the report.
